About the role
We're looking for a Backend Engineer to join our team in Oslo and help build the core systems that power our product. You'll work in a lean, fast-moving environment where you'll have real ownership over the backend infrastructure and architecture. This is a full-time, onsite position.
What you'll do
You'll design, build, and maintain Python-based backend systems that handle real user traffic. Your work will span REST APIs, async services, and the infrastructure that keeps everything running reliably. You'll collaborate closely with the team to ship features quickly, debug production issues, and make architectural decisions that shape how our system evolves. You'll also contribute to code reviews, help onboard new team members, and take on whatever else needs doing in an early-stage environment.
Who you are
You've shipped production backend systems in Python and have hands-on experience building REST or async APIs. You've worked at a startup or early-stage company before, so you're comfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities, and the reality that you'll often wear multiple hats.
Nice to have: You've worked with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and you're familiar with containerisation tools such as Docker or Kubernetes. You have production experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
