About the role
Vipps MobilePay is the Nordic region's leading digital wallet, trusted by 12.5 million users across Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. We're seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join our executive leadership team as a strategic partner to the CEO and board.
You'll own finance, strategy, corporate development, M&A, payment strategy, legal functions and financial crime prevention across a team of approximately 50 people. This is a commercially-oriented, growth-focused role — you'll be a primary driver of business development, market expansion and partnerships, not simply a financial steward. As we move toward becoming an AI-native business, you'll lead that transformation within the finance function and contribute to it company-wide.
What you'll do
- Shape financial strategy and capital allocation to fuel growth across four Nordic markets
- Own business development and commercial partnerships, directly driving new revenue streams and market expansion
- Lead M&A activities from evaluation through integration, managing complex cross-border transactions
- Build and scale the finance function through periods of significant growth and organisational change
- Partner with the board and investors on strategic decisions in a complex multi-stakeholder environment
- Translate complex financial and strategic challenges into clear, actionable direction for operators, boards and external partners
- Champion AI and automation initiatives that fundamentally improve how finance and the broader business operate
Who you are
You've held a senior finance leadership role — CFO, Deputy CFO or equivalent — in a high-growth technology, fintech or digital payments company. You've directly owned business development, commercial partnerships or market expansion, delivering measurable growth outcomes rather than just supporting them analytically.
You have hands-on experience leading or co-leading M&A processes, including deal evaluation, due diligence and integration, ideally across borders. You're comfortable working with boards, investors and owners in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
You have a genuine, demonstrated interest in AI and its business applications — you've led or sponsored initiatives that changed how a finance function or business unit operates.
Nice to have: You've led or scaled a finance function of 30+ people through significant change or growth. You have working proficiency in Norwegian, Danish, Swedish or Finnish alongside English.
